Tropicana Field has gone through quite a bit of refurbishments. This one might be the most useful for the actual game.

Opening Day is this Thursday, March 28, and they just unveiled new blue lights on the roof of the stadium.

The new blue LED lights are still pending approval from Major League Baseball, but the Rays are confident they will get approval in the next few days, according to a press release.

So, why did they add the blue lights? The team is hoping a blue roof, instead of the white, will give more contrast to the ball and help outfielders see the ball a little bit easier.

The team and manager are down but will it actually work? I can see how it will adjust the players focus to the white ball, separating it from the blue roof. I hope the next thing they will fix is how often the balls get stuck in the catwalk. I hope this helps…
