February 27 Update:
Well that was quick! QYK listener Jessica just sent this…
If only all road work in Tampa Bay got done so quickly.— Geno (@WQYKGeno) February 27, 2019
Original story from February 26:
I guess the Florida Department of Transportation doesn’t have spell check! Oops. Drivers in Dunedin near Hwy 19 are doing a double take after a sign was installed showing how to get to Tarpon Springs, Clearwater and … “St. Petersberg.”
Notice something wrong? FDOT’s new sign at Curlew and 19 in Dunedin has a minor (or huge) spelling error. I’m talking to FDOT right now to find out how this happened, and the steps to correct it. I’ll have the story on @abcactionnews at 5. pic.twitter.com/R8eMTqXMIa— JJ Burton TV (@JJBurtonTV) February 26, 2019
Maybe they should have just used “St. Pete” to make it easier.
And for fellow spelling nerds like me that get driven crazy by stuff like this, I’ll just leave this here.
St.Petersberg is my favorite place to road trip too— Nikki (@nikki_weisse) February 16, 2014
Hey it’s Geno. I’m a big Lightning fan and Tampa Bay’s junk foodie. I grew up in Westbrook, Maine but Florida will always be home. Hook up with me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. And catch Nights with Geno weeknights at 7 or listen to my podcast “The Other 59 Minutes”!
