The LA Times is out with a list I’m sure some will take issue with. It’s a staple of the junk food diet: French Fries. Who has the best? According to this list based on taste and texture, you can’t get a better french fry than the ones at Five Guys.
I’m on board with this pick if for no other reason, Five Guys gives you malt vinegar. Personally, I prefer Wing Stop’s fries over any chain. They are similar to Five Guys’ fry style, but their seasoning game is off the chart. But they don’t have nearly as many locations as Five Guys, so I get why Five Guys tops the list.
So who came in at #2? French fries are in their logo… head to the Golden Arches. McDonald’s takes the runner up spot with Del Taco, Steak ‘N Shake and Arby’s rounding out the Top 5. I am in disagreement over Arby’s getting the high ranking. I’m not a curly fries guy.
Other Florida favorites that made the list: Wendy’s at #8, Shake Shack (although not in Tampa yet) comes in at #9, and Burger King at #10.
Fried chicken lovers, Chick-Fil-A just barely missed the Top 10 at #11 and not far behind is KFC at #12.
Fiske Fries from the Florida Strawberry Festival didn’t make the list. Dumb Californians.
