Lawmakers in Hawaii want to ban cigarettes in the entire state.
Well…this is the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen.
Hawaiian lawmakers want to ban cigarettes in the state…but there’s one exception they have in mind, they say people over 100 years old could bypass the ban. What? 100?
The current legal smoking age in Hawaii is 21 and new age limits would only apply to cigarettes, and not e-cigarettes, cigars, or chewing tobacco….but check this out….Tourists would also still be able to bring cigarettes into the state.
A bill was introduced in Hawaii’s House Monday, hoping to put the ban in place by 2024. It would raise the minimum smoking age each year until it reaches 100 years old. The staggered rollout will give lawmakers time to work out how to make up for revenue loss from fewer cigarette sales.
So…no smokes in Hawaii at all huh? Think this will start happening in other states?
