This is just weird and gross. Check your chicken before you get wood in your system…

This company is recalling more than 68,000 pounds of gluten-free chicken nuggets after consumers discovered wood in them. They might be gluten free but they are full of wood.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, people said they found pieces of wood in their chicken bags of Perdue Foods LLC’s frozen SimplySmart Organics chicken nuggets…

Who let this slide?

The chicken nuggets, which were produced on Oct. 25, 2018, were shipped to stores nationwide.

FSIS reports the packages have a best by date of Oct. 25, 2019 and establishment number “P-33944.”

The recall only involves:

2-oz. plastic bag packages of frozen “PERDUE SimplySmart ORGANICS BREADED CHICKEN BREAST NUGGETS GLUTEN FREE” with UPC Bar Code “72745-80656” represented on the label

If you THINK you may have got these, throw them away OR return them. Yup, I said it, you can return it!
