The runners up were Shake Shack, Blaze Pizza (I’ve been to the one in Orlando… fantastic! They’re coming to Tampa Bay.) and Earl of Sandwich. But Trip Advistor’s Best of List just released that rated the best casual fast food restaurants in America rated a relative newcomer to Tampa Bay as #1.
Portillo’s, the spot for Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, and those incredible chocolate cake shakes took top honors. The restaurant got its start back in the 60’s in Chicago, but came to Tampa Bay a few years ago with a location first in Brandon and then in Tampa.
Although they’re not known for those hot dogs and Italian beef sandwiches, I’ve always been crazy about their burgers and cheese fries.
