Making your plans for a night out for the weekend? It’s always smart to start here. Friday nights we bring you the weekly report from inspectors checking in on local Tampa Bay restaurants. Keep in mind, just like where you work, we can all have a bad day so hopefully these places will clean up their act.
This week two family restaurants ended up with the most issues. The most problems were found in Oldsmar at Eves Family Restaurant on Tampa Road. Raw shrimp was being stored right over sausage that was ready-to-eat. The microwave was dirty and the cheese and corn beef has wasn’t being stored at the right temperature, according to Channel 8. There were 42 health violations in all. The restaurant has mixed reviews on Yelp (3 out of 5 stars) but on Google they have 4.4 out of 5 stars. People seem to like their silver dollar pancakes and that they can dine outside on a patio.
Cosmos Family Restaurant in Holiday on US 19 isn’t off the hook either. Live roaches were found in quite a few areas of the place. And they say the cook was cracking eggs while cleaning plates without washing hands. They also had food storage temperature issues with sausage patties, ham, onions and greens. They had 40 violations in total.
Here were the other spots with 20 or more problems with inspectors:
- Angelo’s Kitchen in Hudson (35 violations)
- Hamburger Mary’s Bar and Grille in Tampa (25 violations)
- China Buffet in Largo (31 violations)
- CS Kobe & Italian in Clearwater (30 violations)
- The Tampa Club in Tampa (23 violations)
- China Taste Take-Out in Tarpon Springs (22 violations)
