Brett Young recently opened up about his rise to country stardom.

Like so many other artists, Young never imagined that so many other things besides singing encompassed being a country star.

While you might expect some big-time artists to say they miss living private lives, there’s another part of the business Young isn’t particularly fond of.

Just like those who came before him, Brett wanted to share his music with the world, but he never envisioned that dream would also mean being his own boss.

In an interview with PopCulture, the country star revealed he’s not a big fan of being a CEO.

He said that realization is something he’s still not accustomed to. As a successful artist, Young is responsible for making so many business decisions behind the scenes.

And while Brett admits he’s grown in ways he never thought he would, he still wishes someone had explained what being an artist really entailed.

Young added that being a successful artist isn’t quite all the hype. While he’s extremely appreciative of all of his fans and loves sharing his vulnerable side with the world, he admits the lifestyle isn’t as glamorous as people think it is.

Regardless, Young plays the part well. Most recently, he’s been opening for Thomas Rhett during the Life Changes Tour. He also revealed the title track off Ticket to L.A. yesterday.
