While overall, McDonald’s is still doing well financially and sales continues to grow, the chain is focused on gaining new customers, admitting that sales grew because their current customers are spending more.
In recent years, the company has offered several initiatives to appeal to new customers, such as launching an app for online ordering, daily deals, adding kiosks in several stores, and launching all day breakfast with select breakfast items.
But the CFO says those initiatives so far have largely only gained the attention of existing customers and has not brought many new customers through their doors.
