No, Your Facebook Account Hasn’t Been Cloned or Hacked

What’s going on with Facebook messenger and what should you do? How many Facebook messages did you get over the weekend?  I probably had about 8. People are freaking out…

LONDON – JULY 10: In this photo illustration a lap top is logged onto the social networking site Facebook on July 10, 2007 in London, England. Facebook has been rapidly catching up on MySpace as the premier social networking website and as of July 2007 was the secondmost visited such site on the World Wide Web. Started by 22 year old Harvard dropout Mark Zuckerberg, the website is responsible for 1% of all internet traffic and is the sixth most visited site in the USA. What's going on with Facebook messenger and what should you do?

How many Facebook messages did you get over the weekend?  I probably had about 8.

People are freaking out that their account may be cloned.  The message states, Hi...I actually got another friend request from you yesterday which I ignored so you may want to check your account. Hold your finger on the message until the forward button appears then hit forward and all the people you want to forward it too.

Facebook says not to do as the message states and not to worry, accounts can not be cloned. They can create a new account with your name and picture then send out friend requests.

The message is a hoax and by sharing it, you're only making it spread faster.

The best thing to do is ignore it and delete it.

This is what is looks like
