But there’s a happy ending.

Channel 8 reports that Luis Campo left his home to help out when residents along the North Carolina coast were slammed by Hurricane Florence. While his family was out of the house, robbers broke in. They stole a gun, video game system, collectible coins and jewelry according to the report.

Understandably the family was pretty shaken up. The 24 year old army medic with 6 years of honorable service got some good news though.

Someone set up this Go Fund Me to raise $5,000. They had to shut it down when TRIPLE that amount was raised on the first day.
