Some exciting news for Tampa Bay pro wrestling fans!
A few months back, we told you about the Tampa Bay Sports Commission submitting a bid to host the annual World Wrestling Entertainment event WrestleMania 39 in 2023. It seems that Tampa is at least in the top cities being considered. A survey being sent out to WWE fans asks them where they would like to see WrestleMania hosted. Tampa is on the list of choices.
Raymond James Stadium is already set to host the NFL Super Bowl in 2021. The stadium would likely be the location if WrestleMania was to be held in Tampa Bay. It's been over 10 years since WrestleMania was held in an arena. Even though WrestleMania happens during the cooler months of March and April, WWE even held the event outdoors when they had WrestleMania in New Jersey at MetLife Stadium.
Other options on the survey include Miami, London, Atlanta, Boston, Orlando, San Franciso, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. Orlando hosted WrestleMania twice, most recently in 2017. The survey went out to fans this past weekend. One survey taker got on the panel for purchasing a ticket to WrestleMania last year.
No idea. Perhaps it was from buying a WM ticket for NOLA.
