Fugitives Accused Of Shooting At Cops Found Hiding In Treasure Island

August 19th, 2018 12:05 PM

If you were driving through Treasure Island last night and were wondering what all the commotion was with the police activity, here’s what we know. Channel 8 reports that two armed fugitives who police think shot at cops in North Carolina were caught. The incident happened last week. During a pull over, a truck pulled away and a high speed chase ensued. During the chase, they say shots were fired by an AR-15 at deputies. Fortunately no one was hit.

At some point, authorities found out they might be hiding here in Tampa Bay at one of the suspect’s ex-girlfriend’s apartment.

A SWAT team was called in and they ended up using tear gas and a blast to get the job done. Fortunately no members of law enforcement got hurt and both suspects are now off the street and behind bars.
