When you pick a cell phone, the features it has are a pretty big factor in what you decide to buy. You want a good camera, long battery life or maybe you just want it to be fast. So when you find out your friend’s phone can do something yours can’t, admit it. You get envious.

Well it looks like iPhone users will be among the last to get one feature: listen to QYK live!

Oh sure, we have the QYK app. But what if you are in area without data? That became a big deal last year when Hurricane Irma knocked out power for days in Tampa Bay. Using data streaming burns up your battery quick. What many don’t know is all those smartphones have a feature built in … a radio! But for years, many manufacturers have BLOCKED it! And now one by one, they are changing their minds. Today, Samsung became the latest to put safety over profit. Samsung phones will have the radio feature unlocked. It lets you listen to live local radio without using your data, saving your battery life and data usage.

For whatever reason, Apple has decided to block their users from using the feature. It’s in the iPhone, but Apple disables it.
