Uber Begins Accepting Tips For Drivers
BARCELONA, SPAIN - JULY 01: In this photo illustration, the app 'Uber' is launched in a smart phone on July 1, 2014 in Barcelona, Spain. Until now Uber was the way to catch a lift without the pressure of carrying cash or tipping the driver. Starting today, tipping will be available in Seattle, Minneapolis, and Houston. Once it all gets smoothed out, tipping will be rolled out nationwide by the end of July.
Wondering how it will work? Drivers who want to receive tips need only download the latest version of the app, and then tap “receive tips”. Riders will be asked whether they would like to leave a tip when rating their driver at the end of a trip. Then pick the amounts of $1, $3, or $5, or ofcourse select a custom amount.
