Why We Love Keith Urban
Everybody loves Keith Urban. Sure he makes awesome music and sure he’s married to one of the world’s biggest movie stars. More than that, though, he’s just so darn endearing.
Take the recent 2017 CMT Music Awards. Keith pretty much ruled the night, winning trophies for Social Superstar, Collaborative Video, Male Video and Video of the Year. By the time his name was called the last time, the “Blue Ain’t Your Color” genuinely seemed like he was out of words. The best he could muster were pretty darn good, however.

“I don’t know what to say,” he offered. “This award is for everybody watching who voted for this, everybody here in the room tonight – this award is for all you guys – everybody outside that couldn’t get in, everybody that comes to see us play in concert. I wish God’s blessings for all of you and your families.”
That was pretty good, but there was more. “I love making music,” Keith continued. “I love making videos. I love making records. I love writing songs. I love touring. I love what I get to do, maybe more than ever right now.”
And more. “I get to play music,” he concluded. “You guys allow me to do that. And when you support this music and connect with it … that’s all I’m trying to do. I’m just trying to make a connection.” If you missed it, or just want to see it again, here you go.
