Tourists Were Touring, Then Rascal Flatts Jumped Out
So there you are on vacation with your fam’ in New York City. Someone says, “Hey, let’s tour the NBC studios at 30 Rock!” “What a great suggestion!” you say.
Soon you get the tickets, line up in the lobby and immediately realize you’re in a group with the tourist from hell. It’s happened to the best of us, but not quite like it did to a recent group of visitors. Their annoying tourist turned out to be Jay DeMarcus from supergroup trio Rascal Flatts! But it gets better.
The whole thing was arranged during a recent visit to NBC’s Today show, where the trio performed in the plaza outside Rockefeller Center. Not long after that cameras rolled again as the show’s Hoda Kotb helped hatch a plan that put DeMarcus in disguise among group of curious tourists. DeMarcus’ job was to simply be that guy – the most irritating out-of-towner on the tour. Fellow tourists even stepped away from the convert superstar the more annoying he became. The mood soon improved, of course, when the rest of Rascal Flatts showed up to play a surprise pop-up concert. Watch below.
Rascal Flatts recently released their 10th studio album Back To Us, and announced a new Las Vegas residency at The Ventian for October. Find out more here.
