Rascal Flatts is about to release Back To Us, their 10th studio album. And if you find that hard to believe, you're not alone.
"Our entire career's just flown by," lead singer Gary LeVox says through the group's record label. "It doesn't feel like we've been in the game as long as the numbers say, you know? But this being our 10th album it's kind of mind blowing because you know, first you just want to get a record deal. Then you just want to have a single and then hopefully hear it on the radio. And we've been so blessed and just it's really, really amazing that we've got 10 studio albums completed and this one was probably more fun than it was making the first one. It was a joy. It was great. We've got some great stuff on there, I think some of the best stuff we've had in awhile."
The trio basically dropped off the grid to record the project, which is one reason Joe Don Rooney found the process so enjoyable.
"We kind of locked ourselves away and really, really took our time with picking the right songs and writing songs for this album and spent a lot of time at Jay's house in his home studio," Rooney says. "And you know we were just comfortable and it was a very collective progress with the album, and it's just amazing that we're still able to find these songs and write these songs and make the kind of music we're able to make after all these years."
The Flatts guys have big hopes for what fans will get from the project. Hear each of their takes below courtesy of Big Machine Label Group.
