The 2017 CMA Music Festival is shaping up to be the biggest and best so far.
Nearly 200 artists are slated to play the four-day Nashville event, and now Kelsea Ballerini and Thomas Rhett have been tapped as hosts for the three-hour concert special that follows later this summer on ABC. The news was revealed this week on the network's Good Morning America, and needless to say the pair are pretty excited.
"I've grown up going to CMA Fest as a fan and last year getting to perform on the big stage is one of the most epic memories I'll ever have," Kelsea says in a press release. "And now, being able to host with my current tour mate, Thomas Rhett, is going to be another crazy thing off the bucket list!"
Adds Thomas, "Ever since I was there as a fan sitting in the nosebleeds to hosting this year with Kelsea, it’s always been one of the biggest weeks in country music that is all about the fans. I'm pumped."
The concert special features the nightly Nissan Stadium performances, which this year include Blake Shelton, Brad Paisley, Brett Eldredge, Chris Stapleton, Chris Young, Cole Swindell, Darius Rucker, Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line, John Anderson, Keith Urban, Kenny Rogers, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Luke Bryan, Maren Morris, Miranda Lambert, Rascal Flatts, Sam Hunt, Trace Adkins and Tracy Lawrence. And yes, Kelsea and Thomas will be taking the big stage, too. The festival runs June 8-11.
