Why In-N-Out Burger Will Probably Never Come To Florida
In-N-Out Burger will probably never come to Florida, says Buisness Insider.
I lived in California for 6 years and didn’t think much of In-N-Out… until I came back to the east coast and couldn’t have it anymore. Absence does may the heart and stomach grow fonder.
With Wawa’s now all over Tampa Bay and Portillo’s from Chicago choosing Florida as their first place to expand, I’ve always assumed we’ll be one of the first to get an In-N-Out restaurant here in Tampa. When will they come to Florida? Probably not anytime soon… if ever.
Right now, the closest In-N-Out restaurants to us are in Texas.
So why won’t they come to Tampa?

In-N-Out makes their own burgers themselves and they’re never frozen. So there’s only a certain radius they would be able to deliver to. Another theory is that there’s already a lot of burger chains coming into Tampa Bay that are similar, like Shake Shack and Five Guys, that would make it tough to compete. I love Five Guys and Shake Shack, but I disagree that would stop In-N-Out from being packed. Shake Shack meals cost nearly $20 for a burger, fries and drink. In-N-Out combos cost about half that.
The last reason they’re saying In-N-Out won’t come to Florida is because they don’t franchise like McDonalds or Burger King. It’s a privately-owned family buisness. And it doesn’t seem like it’s going to change anytime soon.
So for us Floridians, if you want a Double Double Animal Style, you’re going to have to book a flight to Utah, California, Arizona, Nevada or Texas.
