Carl Edwards Opens Up About The Real Reason He Retired
NASCAR fans were surprised to learn Carl Edwards was retiring from NASCAR, and as he stood on the podium today, the reason why became painfully evident … as he wiped away tears.
Edwards made it known he had no intentions of returning to full-time driving. Reason being, he is happy with what he has achieved in his career and he longs to spend more time with the people he cares about.
According to Rare Country, Edwards went on to say, “I want to spend time outside the sport on things that are important for me.”
He added, “I accomplished more than I ever dreamed of accomplishing.”
Over the course of 13 years, Edwards won close to 30 races, with more than 340 top 10 finishes.
He will be missed in the sports world, but we have the utmost respect for his decision to retire.
