New Years Eve in Times Square is something I do want to do once. I almost did it about 5 or 6 years ago. A couple friends and I arrived too late to be really close – they close blocks off one by one to manage the huge crowds.

We got there at about 5 or 6 and the closest viewing spot was about 5 blocks away from the ball drop. By about 6:30, we’d had enough. No bathroom breaks. No leaving or walking around. We ended up going to a TGI Fridays around the block to watch the ball drop on TV. We even had to pay a cover charge… for a TGI Fridays! –Geno
